if you get stuck without proper replacements, you can always use a pair of cowbell mounts on the front hoop... you may have to shim them with some sort of gasket-type material if the hoops are soft

this is what i did as a quick solution for a friend on tour who needed a loaner for a show

picture to follow, as i need to cut it down to size... i glued on some floor tom feet, have rubber erasers as inserts on the metal hoop

What type of spurs does the set have? A lot of the British vintage drum stuff like Ajax premier and Beverley had similar parts. It could be that a set of Premier spurs would fit?

hi all thanks for the replies.it has those stubby little disapearing spurs beloved of english drum makers,sadly they are worse than useless and anything more than tea dance work will send the bass drum flying.i was wondering apart from drilling and fitting modern spurs what else is there to do.i will try that cowbell post thing though

Ah yes, I think I know the ones. Thing is, some of the Premier and Olympic spurs are longer, so may fit the diameter holes you have? There was also a clip-on L spur, I used to have them on an old Premier set. They would do a better job but would avoid drilling - Similar to the cowbell post idea really.

How about a simple bass drum anchor? It is a really inexpensive devise designed specifically to keep drums from creeping away. See this link:

You can find them on ebay if needed, and almost all decent drum shops have them in stock or will order them.

I'm a bit confused. I would expect these spurs on a Nu-Sound, not disappearing ones.

hmm that is strange! these spurs must have been replaced at some point then,you would never tell!
