Advice on selling '59 Slingys

Loading...

That company rep may be color blind. The wrap is a completely different color on the bass drum, it appears to be Pink Champagne. I think first I'd try selling the snare drum, the 2 toms, the 14" Japanese floor tom to Jonni, and the bass drum, respectively, separately. I haven't been following the prices on the artist series snare drums (or is it a radio king?) with the clamshell throwoff that appears to be a single ply drum though, is that correct?

The bass looks really nice, but unless you can find someone looking for that color, because it is a rewrap I wouldn't expect it to sell for much north of the $200 mark. I could be wrong, though, if you find someone who wants that color. The floor tom could sell for another $200, the rack tom around $100 and the Japanese 14" who knows?

The snare drum, may fetch $500 but it is more likely to be somewhere between $300 and $500. Don't get your hopes too high in this market. See the post where the prices are going for less than for quite some time.

So if you can get around $750 total you should be consistent with the market, and you should be very happy indeed if you can net the $1000 you have into them.

Pounder - thanks for the info. I listed them in the "For Sale" section for $550 as a group. I haven't checked to see if I have anyone looking yet (been out for a few days). Overall, I'm very surprised at how good the drums look but they've been well kept (out of the sunlight) for probably 20 years. Thanks again for the pricing info. I'll have some other things up for sale shortly.

That sounds like a very good deal, you should get a nibble or two.
