Ok So I got an orphan 8x12 Tom to complette my set however, after I removed the paint i realized the outer layer is mahogany.

Question is..... restore, apply maple veneer and stain same color as kit or..

restore, new wrap and sell?

Hello folks. it has been a while but I'm almost at the finish line 1 more pc to go ( 13")

You can notice the 12" tom completely restore including the Badge ( long story there explained on another post)

Mineral spirit... no goGoo off... no gopaint stripper..... no gobrake cleaner.... no gostill to try..Lacquer thinnerGoo gone3M adhesive remover..kerosen/gaslast resort.....sand and re-wrap and forget about finish and lacquer..

I used Goo Gone on my 6 ply floor that I rewrapped with great results.

Once you apply it, you have to let it sit for a few minutes,(i'd say about 5) then the adhesive will peel off like "boogers of glue" for lack of a better term, with some rubbing... Very easy to come off, and i wiped a majority of the adhesive with my bare hands, in this case, rubbing with my thumb.. Good luck !

Yes. Goo Gone seems to have the better results. you just need to be patient..
