The screws and washers will cover up the black stains around the holes, that will be an improvement, especially if I take odballs advice and get new fasteners.

I really like it too - wouldn't do to look too new [there's a song in there somewhere]. Seriously though a bit of grit in the grain is a good thing I think...

Jeff - Have you ever seen the inside of a 60's Camco snare drum? They are the most beautifully finished drums you'll ever see. That's what you made the inside of that shell and the bearing edges look like! A high quality Camco. Nice job bud! Stop hammering yourself, you do some of the best woodwork in the forum.

John and Mitch, thank you for your nice comments. Gonna try and get the other drums interiors finished this week, then hopefully veneer over the weekend. Looking forward to the cherry/walnut finish.

Finishing up spraying the insides of the shells today. Also had time to wrap a couple drums. Did the old marching drum shell that I cut down first. This time I applied the veneer, then did the round over on the outside.

Jeff, you are getting better with the butt joints. I wanna add that a slight diagonal helps hide it better because the grain don`t all stop at the same point, kinda fools the eyes.
