Lucky asked me to post this photo for him of his Black Galaxy sparkle Legacy kit! May I be the first one to say... drool-worthy kit my friend!

Here's the modern version of BGS:

John, thank you so much!! I must say that I think the original Galaxy has way more flecks, much richer, but I am happy with these! And let me say, they sound as good as they look ;-)

No, thank you! Now the thread shows kits from every era, vintage to modern versions. And I agree, the old wrap has more sparkles and color than the modern version. It's also a much heavier wrap on the old kits. The modern ones use that thin modern wrap. I left a bass drum with that modern wrap (Mod Orange) in the car overnight after a gig a couple of years ago. It didn't even get that cold, but next morning there were bubbles in the wrap! Be careful never to expose those drums to temperature extremes. The wrap can't handle it.

Gorgeous kit. Thanks again for posting a photo of them.

Howdy;

Nice set and nice repair. I am looking for a 22" Bass in Black Galaxy. If you know or anyone on this forum knows of one please let me know.

Thanks!
