If you find a zoomatic on ebay and you can get if $50.00 that will be a deal, but it will probably be more!!
60's Slingerland Artist Model Blue Sparkle
Kevin, is the knob really that big of a problem to fix? I've always heard of problems with zoomatics, but the 3 snares I've owned with zoomys have just been great with no problems whatsoever, so I really don't have any experience with repairing one. Seems like you can find a used strainer for cheaper than it would cost to fix.
No one has come up with a permanent fix yet except Jim.
We had a discussion a while back about this repair, and temporary solutions abound, but no real fixes yet.
Buying a replacement is one way to go.... but who knows when the replacement will fail too?
Jim promises a repair, and a solution to the design problem that he guarantees will not fail.
Next time I am in need, I will call on him.
I have a complete Zoomy right here waiting to be put on...so no worries. If this one is done for I will just sell it for parts to someone for cheap...or keep it for parts for my working one.
