Maybe that's why it sounds the way it does. Because someone has been beating it with the butt end of a 2B like a drunk clubbing seals...It stresses the metal to the point where it would never sound good again..and will always have that clangy, gongy sound. A hard rocker has already got to this one...Too bad, it had all the right stats..Usually about mid way up the shoulder of the cymbal, you will see a clear, thin, ring all the way around the cymbal that is lighter in color than the rest of the cymbal. Bingo! It's the tell tale sign...For me anyway.
