1967 Ludwig Jazzette Gold Sparkle

Loading...

So here are a few crappy pics of my new Jazzette set from 1967.

12x18" bass drum

14x14" floor tom

8x12" tom

1st year production. 3-ply with White interiors all date stamped 1967.

Consecutive serial numbers. Original gold sparkle wrap.

Bearing edges are B+ condition and they sound GREAT!

I bought these from a friend in Manhatten and I'm trying to find out the history of the drums.

I feel pretty lucky to have found these in such good condition.

It's been a fun week so far with these.

Beautiful! The bass drum mounted cymbal bracket is not original and not Ludwig. I love gold sparkle!

Paid about 2K when all the shipping and import taxes were done.

Gotta find a Ludwig cymbal mount.

And had to fix a couple of drilled holes in the floor tom where some nut probably mounted a cowbell. Cowbells are for cows in switzerland, not on Ludwig Jazzette's!

Very nice!! I love the jazzette. Been shown before but here is my 1972-ish jazzette in silver sparkle. I have since added a period correct B/O badge jazzfest. Originally I thought they were 74-ish time frame but now think they are slightly older. great color you have! I also love those maple ones in the gallery.

If your kick were 18x12, THAT would be my dream kit right there--Jazzette in green sparkle, keystone badges w/maple interiors, matching jazzfest...

I wouldn't turn down a downbeat in the meantime, though!

seems the normal downbeat's kick is 20x14, this one is 20x12 so half way there :-) and this one is green glass glitter, rewrap..nonetheless..
