I find it fantastic that such beautiful drums have gone thro`53 yrs. of only "two owners" and i congratulate you on being the 2nd. These situations are getting to be very rare and as you know, timing is everything here when buying(right place/right time)...love the greenish tinge mojo that`s going on with the patina.Thank you for being the new caretaker of them and above all, play them often and enjoy those vintage tones.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for the comments. You made me realize that I didn't state I bought them in 1967, so I have owned them for 48 years now. The first owner had them for 4 or 5 years, but never really played anywhere. I was 14 when I bought them and started playing in local clubs in 1970. I think the club smoke is what caused the slight yellowing of the WMP finish because I have had them in hard sides cases since I bought them.

Mark

P.S. The drums also followed me during 23 years in the Army, so they have REALLY been around.... :-)

Beautiful "timeframe" kit.... For me, that's this forum is all about... Loving the wear patterns on those heads too, no doubt they have provided some beautiful music/sounds along the way....

Cheers

John
