Well, recently I got some new neighbors and the lady of the house grew up in Chicago and it turns out that her father worked for Ludwig from 1935 until the 1980s in some capacity.
Today we were having a little holiday fun at their house when she comes to me with a little box that her father made for her mother the year her parents were married. It appears to be wrapped in Ludwig WMP with blue sparkle and gold sparkle trim. The inside bottom and cover are WMP too. All tacked together with little tacks. The handle on the top appears to be a muffler knob.
She mentioned a story that her father didn’t really like having noisy drums and such played around her house, but he did get her mother a pair or two of drumsticks to use to remove the steaming hot laundry items from the water and to help put the laundry through the ringer on their old washing machine tub. She spoke of the Damen address that she remembered.
She said I could share this with you folks here on the forum. Below are some photos of the wedding box.
