1940 Slingy Radio King 7" x 14" Last viewed: 6 seconds ago

James - Oh man, I can't wait to hear this one. I've got a big old WFL woody kit that it would go perfectly with. 14 x 26 bass, 10 x 14 rack, 16 x 16 floor all in natural mahogany with maple hoops and claws. The 7 x 14 Radio King will fit in perfectly with that crew. I'm psyched to git r' done.

Holy cow I want to hear that kit! That is a sweet project. The Ace goes perfectly!

John, that is going to be a sick kit! The look, the sound, now all you need is the white tails to make the whole scene!

Nice job as usual John. You just got to love old Slingerland drums. When I finally get a digital camera(im still a 35mm slr guy),I'll post some pics of my RK.Aluminum badge Super Gene Krupa,Clamshell strainer,beavertails,7x14,in WMP with very little fade. The top rim is a engraved radio king stick chopper, but the bottom rim is aluminum, with steel gates that are rivited.

I have seen only one other RK with aluminum reso hoops, and I believe it was on this forum, and the drums was black diamond pearl.

Anyway, playing the drum with your Levon Helm tribute kit sounds like a great IdeaYes Sir

Nice one John ! Finding vintage drums in pristine condition is awesome but the restoration projects are a lot more fun to me. Nothing beats breathing new life into an old classic. Love how it came out.
