'Could be' a Blaemire shell! My '71 Blaemires all have 60's Ludwig lugs, hoops and hardware. Allen would only make the shells, the use of Ludwig, Rogers, or whatever style of hardware was left up to the customer. So yes, it 'could be' a Blaemire fiberglass shell. It's a shame the tag is gone. All my drums have Allen's tag on the inside. A tag would help to nail down the manufacturer. If it's a Blaemire, you have a rare drum on your hands. Especially in that natural pink finish.

I was under the impression that all Blaemire shells were green in their natural state. The OP's looks to have red strips of glass through the shell.

It is an 8 lugger.

Here are a few more pictures, I wanted to give y'all a closer look at the shell to see the material closer. I also provided a picture of the backside of the air port. If anyone wants any specific pictures of the drum please let me know and I will happily provide some. I tried looking for where some sort a label or tag was on the inside of the shell and I see no indication that.

It looks to be an early Blaemire shell.
Alan perfected the process as time went on.
This one does not have the roving as embedded in resin as in later more perfected shells.
Thus the high amount of roving splintering where the holes were drilled.

Perhaps one of Allen's experiments thus no label embedded in the glass.
It looks like Alan wound some red FG roving along with the white/clear to give it some color.

Alan made shells in a few colors:
Amber, Pink, Green, Rose/Pink and now Candy Cane.

Here is the Rose/Pink that just recently showed up.
I had a Pink Blaemire snare in the Late 70's.
I sold it. Bummer. What did I know?
It had 10 lugs, bowties, P-85. 5.5x14.
You know............... I live for a good Blaemire Thread.
I love seeing these odd ones pop up.
And this is a real good one.

Well, I actually got this drum for free. My drum instructor got it from Colin Bailey and I showed up to my drum lesson and my teacher said "Do you want this? I have too much stuff and don't have the room." I said yes not really knowing what it was, I was just going to try and restore it with my dad. I never thought it'd turn out to be what it is which is pretty cool.
What is it even worth? How rare is it?
