Zildjian Hollow Logo

I recently bought a 19" Avedis Zildjian to go with this 20", but I don't like how the match up as a pair. The 19" with the 50's stamp is very light (1.682 grams) compared to the 20" which is a medium weight (2.150 grams) In this case the 19" is actually darker and lower in pitch compared to the 20" It's not my preferred combination. Ideally I like the larger cymbal to have the lower pitch and darker sound.

I was going to sell this hollow ink logo with the 1960's era stamp, but I'm going to hold off until my new cymbal arrives. I'm looking forward to comparing them side-by-side. The cymbal I have ordered is another 20" Avedis. I assumed they would be more or less the same cymbal, but if this cymbal has the 60" stamp and the other one has the thin, 70's stamp then I'm sure there will be some differences in weight and sound characteristics too.

I've enjoyed reading the comments about these Hollow ink logo Zildjians. It's very insightful. Thanks guys. I'm relatively new to Avedis Zildjians cymbals, but I'm hooked on them now. I had the same K Zildjian Custom for about 15 years as my one and only ride cymbal, but recently decided to sell it and buy an Avedis instead. I miss the bell sound of the K Custom, but overall I prefer these Avedis.

If you guys are interested then I'll report back with more info on my new 20" hollow logo and maybe make a video sound file comparing it with the other hollow logo with the weird 60's stamp. :D

Yes please. Do record and do report back. I think we've all be through buying several cymbals before we find the one that fits perfectly with another one we love. It's just how it goes.
