In the photo are the bare bones Sonors (early 60's teardrops 20,16,12). I'm thinking Beech Veneer to "keep it natural" ? If it were not for thehresidual glues and the small but numerous bits of wood fiber that came off with wrap I would just finish them as is. Ideas?Looking for your input?Cheers!~K
On my rosewood teardrops the veneer is applied vertically. (Not wrapped around the shell, but the grain runs from edge to edge.) See my kit in the images section. I think most Sonor veneers are done this way. The guys at "Sonor Museum" forum are very knowledgable about this. A guy named MGM on there is a veneer expert.
