White 80's Ludwig Rocker w/Classic Lugs

At 25.00 per drum how can you go wrong?

Well when you put it that way, it does make it better. :)

Everything is on the drums ... all lugs, hoops, tension rods, claws, T-rods, chrome dot heads, mounts, FT legs and badges. Oh wait, the FT legs are missing the rubber feet. ;) The chrome had very minor pitting and some rust specks, but that's easy to fix. I think I'll give the wrap a good cleaning and the Novus 2 then 1 treatment. I think the heads might even be re-usable.

What the heck am I going to do with this kit?

You'll have years of enjoyment. All of a sudden you're an 80's rock star pounding out the power ballads on a vintage Ludwig made in the USA.

Loverboy tribute band? Seriously, you're 80s fix coulda been a LOT more costlier!! These are great drums.

Here are some quick pics of the kit still in the car. The gunk that was on the white wrap comes right off and did not stain. :) There are a couple of surface scratches, but they are minimal and the Novus will really shine up these shells.

Now on to head selection. I already have an identically sized kit with Evans G2 Clears, so I'm guessing a clear head is going to produce a similar sound. Since the kit is white, coated head up/down could make this thing look really silly. I can re-use the Ludwig smooth black bass resonant head, so that's good. Any thoughts on head choice, from those that have one of these kits?

I was just looking at the Remo Ebony Pinstripes just for the bottoms. Maybe white coated Emperors for the tops.

I agree. $100. I'll trade you my reds for your whites plus cash. Those are sweet.

I know, but our house already has three kits and 6 snares. ;)

There was also another 12/13/16/22 Rockers Chrome-over-wood kit with the Standard lugs available for $100, but it was pretty beat up. Of the two, this kit was the obvious choice. It was actually being sold when I went to pickup mine.

I forgot to mention it also came with a bass pedal. Model L2930 with the double springs.

Here is a post, from idrum4fun, of exactly what the kit looks like, but they are in Cortex White.http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showpost.php?p=104411&postcount=15The kit needs a very good cleaning. It looks like something got spilled and then dried on the white wrap. I'm going to see if it actually stained the wrap. If it did, I might think twice about buying. :(Picking them up today. I'm so in the dog house! DOH-Tim

Yes... I loved that Rocker kit! Should have kept it!
