I feel very much at home with Motown/R&B/Doo Wop..I,ve played everything else for years BUT, I'm right at home with The Temps,Stevie etc.........Whats your comfort zone??
Where are you most comfortable as a drummer?
I agree. Classic R&B is where it's at. Al Green. Marvin. Even the Bee Gees. Vintage drums were made for this genre.
Can't argue with classic R&B, but I also like "Nuggets"-style garage rock.

Oh, maybe that's not what the OP question was asking. ;)

i'm most comfortable on a country Ray-Price heavy shuffle as long as I've got hard driving bass man beside me.
I suck. I'm still more comfortable with a guitar in my hand and a real drummer in the driver's seat. LoLoLoLo
Jazz and swing are my roots and I enjoy playing all sorts of jazz styles - 20s to 60s, but I also enjoy some good 40s/50s Rock'n'Roll - Louis Jordan, Wynonie Harris, the Treniers, stuff like that. But then again I can get into Hank Williams and Bob Wills and similar too. Hell, I'm just a drum slut really... So long as it swings, it's hot and it's happy, then I'm in! Keep on Pl:D

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
I enjoy playing the '60s to 80s pop/rock, but make my money playing classic country, which I am told I am very good at.
