There'a few things in common that the truly classic types share. These are:
1. They've earned a reputation for excellence.
2. They're no longer made.
3. They reproduce a certain sound of the era, especially if in that era they were used for types of music considered characteristic of that era, or musical genre.
4. And based on the first 3 points mentioned, are in time becoming more highly sought after.
This is true of the hand hammered A's, the old K's, the Paiste 602's, the Paiste Giant Beats, and maybe a few others.
Unless most or all of these criteria are met, then that cymbal doesn't stand a chance of being considered a classic.
