WFL snare restoration - impacted/cracked shell

Loading...

Hey guys,

I recently picked up a 6 lug WFL pioneer snare and it appears as though it's been dropped on the strainer which as you can see has caused the outer plies to impact/crack into the shell. The interior ply layer has a small crack.

So far my thinking is to fill the cracks with some epoxy or glue and clamp the shell using concaved and convexed clamping blocks to try and bring the impacted sections of ply back to their original position.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Haldane.

I was only able to see one photo and it did not look that bad to me. It looked like the outside of the shell so can't comment on the inside. Consider filling it for a good fit to the strainer. The strainer will probably cover most of it.
