Well we can tell by your hands that you've been putting in a few hard yards...Laughing HCheersJohn

Laugh now, smartas$! Your turn will come! baby crawl2

My fingers are sore as hell from handling so much rusty metal. Also, standing at the buffing machine for hours on end is not an easy trick at 65. It's a case of, the spirit is willing, but the body says, Ow! :p

Dirty hands means honest work... I'm proud to show them off.

Can't wait to see Big Blue all shined up and ready for the dance. Something about a big ol' bass drum that just makes me smile. :D

I just returned home a while ago from a visit to John and Bev's lair where I got to see these drums up close and personal. I've always been a guitar guy and have never seen a set of drums of this era or built the same way. The wrap has zero flaws and all of the hoops are wood (but for the snare). Also never saw faucet handle t-rods on toms prior to this. This kit is so cool from the huge bass drum to the floor tom basket that rides on what look to be 3/4" diameter steel casters. It's old no doubt but was constructed in such a manner that once put into shape it could be gigged without wrecking it. It looks that well made!

Sorry, I'm just saying what you guys can already see in the pics but it got me all jazzed up just seeing the drums in person. Gave me the VAPORS I tell ya! (had to be there!)

Oh yea, I was recording John doing some instructional stuff and when we got finished Bev had a loaf of what is the best homemade bread I ever tasted that just came out of the oven. I ain't just whistlin' Dixie, this bread has a brown crispy crust and the inside is so light, fluffy and sweet, still warm and no butter needed! Thank you Bev.

Sorry to get off track, you guys are going to love these drums when they're finished!

Believe it or else!

LOL - Hey Mick, here's a shot of Bev's 'Manna From Heaven' for posterity! :D

Did the piece she gave you make it home? Laughing H

I'm still eating chunks every time I pass through the kitchen. She really hit the ball out of the park with that loaf! Pass the butter!

I'll go back to work on the drums tomorrow. Today I got to 'break bread' with a good friend... great time, Mick. You are always welcome at Rancho Purdie.

You had to be there, Jeff. Then you would understand why the bread was melt-in-your-mouth good enough to make people talk about it! More drums later, right now I'm going back for another chunk of that loaf! :D
