Unknown Kit

Gang:

A friend of mine found this picture of his dad from around 1942. He has no idea what ever became of the kit. Neither one of us know what kind of kit it is. I wish it wasn't a black and white photo. The color remains a mystery too. This is the best place to ask. Thanks.

by the size oif drums and tacked on bottom heads to toms and lugs old rk's 30's is that a old hi hat that i see it cold be late 20's !!!!
