Modern Turkish makers are in a different Turkish arena. They're in a nice Modern Turkish vacation spot. They're pleasant, don't get me wrong, they're pleasant.

There's a Deep deep Soul in old Ks.

Frightening compared to modern Turkish or Avedis Co.

Frightening depth in every one of them.

No such thing as a Hi Hat from the 20's. The grommet says

to me they are clappers.

What these particular cymbals are I can't say, but, Ludwig shows a hi-hat stand in their 1928 catalog. I do not have access to a 1926 or 1927 catalog so I have no way of telling whether or not 1928 was the first year it appeared in a Ludwig catalog. After doing some research on the subject it appears the first hi hat may have been developed around 1926 by Walberg and Auge, it isn't clear to me though when hi hats came into practical use as a standard tool in a drummer's kit. The dates of some of the early photos I've seen with drummers using hi hats may not always be accurate. However, I am fairly certain I have seen it being used in photos prior to 1930.

It probably was being tried by the few as the low boy was tough to hit, but it really didn't become a standard for kits til around 35. That's about when everyone included it, and I really doubt K was pairing hats for them with grommets in the twenties, or anyone. I think I saw what you did and SONOR's too, but they had 10's or 12's from the trap bass or low boy which were K's.

Be interesting to find when cymbal makers started specifically making High Hat cymbals though.
