Pretty drum! Hope it sounds as good as it looks!
I've actually had an acro shell and all new parts sitting on a shelf for a while, waiting for a similar makeover.
The shell's in UGLY shape after an apparent painting attempt went wrong. I need some paint work done on my car and was thinking about having the body shop do the shell while they're at it. BMW "steel blue metallic" ought to look pretty nice surrounded by new chrome.
If I was going to paint a acroliite I would seriously consider powder coating. Its 100 time tuffer than paint

Drum looks great. Since you are going to put a repro badge, I would go with the keystone repro, works better with all the gold hardware.

Beautiful.
I do wonder if chroming an Acro shell sets you up for flaking chrome down the road.
