Suddenly Inherited Rodgers Kit From Brother

From idrum4fun

Hi all!I've been in touch with Catherine via both PM and personal email. Thankfully, she is not in a rush to deal with the set. When the time is right for her, we will meet and discuss everything. At this point in time, I don't feel she needs to schlep all the way out to Pro Drum for information that I can provide. I feel confident that I know what's important with vintage Rogers drums and what is not. When the time comes to take pictures, I'll post them here for everyone to weigh in on.Catherine, thanks for joining our community. Everyone is here to help!-Mark

Nice job Mark ! That is great you are doing that for her and her late brother you are a good dude !

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

Thanks! Catherine sent me a few pictures yesterday. The snare drum is a Ludwig Super Sensitive, but in a 6.5" depth! There was also a partial picture of the bass drum and I could tell it was a Big R series by one of those big cast Memriloc mounts for either the leg or tom holder. She then sent a picture of the badge showing that it is a Big R. Serial number is

D 21xxx, so probably early 1975.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Upate...

Catherine called me today and we had a really wonderful conversation! We're meeting tomorrow for coffee and to talk about her brothers drums and her expectations on selling them. The next step will be to do a complete inspection of the drums and take pictures to show the current condition. Will keep you all informed!

This has turned out to be a great thread.

Even in the midst of grief, music brings people together and makes us...well, happy! I'm looking forward to your get together and what comes out of it.:)
