The wrap looks to be in good condition from this one shot. Is that the case? Are the shells damaged at all? My assumption is the bottom bearing edges will need some love, but i bet you will have that kit up and running in no time.

Great project!

Generally good on the wrap... seams coming up a little, I need to go back through and see what has been posted regarding lifting seam repair.

YEP..Bottom edges are rough.

Need 24 of the lugs... I think they are called Large Classic Lugs...

Need to strip the hardware (polish it all of course) and repaint the inside of shells.

Only two extra holes in the BD shell...

Need an L arm.

Need to find what the correct wing nuts are for this Ludwig hardware.

Working on correct spurs

Need hoops...

Need time and cash. :)

time and cash....those are the issues at hand are they not?

Good luck and enjoy. That will be a great set once completed. The 70's were hard on drum kits. CryBaby

Jim, this kit is worth every penny and the time it takes to do it. Take your time, it will be a killer kit for sure.

No surprise the bottom hoops, lugs, and tension rods are missing. Oh the stupid things we did (me included) in the '70s to get that cool concert tom sound!

Good luck with the project!

Jim,

That's a beautiful set of drums and well worth any time, money and effort that you put into them. They were made at a time when Ludwig drum shells were second to none. Do whatever it takes to put them right. You'll be glad you did.

BTW, I just had Precision Drum co. put a new set of vintage edges on a 66' Club Date kit for me and the drums sound amazing. If the edges on those drums are that bad, have Precision recut them for you. It is worth the small added expense. Those will be keepers for life if you treat them right.

Great kit!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Yeah, I'm so stoked when i get a new project, but around the time I'm polishing the 12th lug casing and the tendons in my hands are cramping up, I start to lose that fervor. Then I look at the clock and its 2am! No wonder!

Maybe I should stick to club dates....fewer lugs!

Jim,

I have two bass hoops and a set of replacement claws (take offs from

a Ludwig project) that I can donate.

I'm in Columbus - PM if you're interested.
