Yeah, those are 3-plies. These shells are VERY thin, just so you know. Funny though, since I've never seen 3-plies with that kind of bass drum mount./Magnus

Me neither.

I'm thinking maybe the kick is a 6ply shell.

AFAIK the 6 plies didn't have rerings. Oddball? Did they?

I never said it had re-rings, those pictures I posted only had the 13 and 16.

Johnny, Magnus, you're right both.

It's my favorite gorgeous wrap called "M-Kristall Schwarz-Silber" which was used for Sonor/ Tromsa/ Trowa/ Lefima/ Tacton/ Amati.

I have a Trowa kit with this beautiful wrap.

Tromsa and Amati also had used more rare analog called "Schwarz Gold" -- I have an Amati set with that wrap.

Our collegue Phil 'Calfskin' four years ago said that were also a green and red shades for these wrap types, but I never seen such colours.

Cheers,

George.

Very cool, George. Any pictures of those kits?

Best,

Hi Magnus,

I have some pics from previous owner and now Amati kit placed in garage which not near my home.

Set includes BD 20", RT 12", FT 16", SD 14" and handmade RT 13" from Pearl Fiberglass shell (I was very surprised when unpacking the box). All the drums reached me in good condition by the transport company from Southern Russia (650 kilometers).

A snare from this set I posted four years ago

Trowa set now lives at my summer home shed and not ready for session...

Cheers,

George.

Beautiful drums, George, thanks for sharing. Funny looking lugs, though! A bit like the old Premiers.

Best,

Magnus

Big yes, Magnus -- these earlier Amati drums indeed are sustained in Prem style.

As for mine Trowa set It consists of BD 22", RT 13", FT 14 "and SD14". Such a similar set made a trip from Sweden to Canada -- from Henk to Phil several years ago. Mine kit is the next step just after 'hemelsoet' set -- short teardrop ZAC alloy Ni-coated lugs instesad Trixon style Alu alloy lugs. All the next Trowa generation have had a long teardrop chromed lugs in Sonor style and also were changed FT 14" to 16" and angle bearing edges came to rounded.

Cheers,

George.
