Hi. I am re-wrapping a Slingerland be-bop kit. In your opinion what wrap will give this kit greatest re-sale value?

1961 - 18x14 bass drum with rogers mount.
1961 - 12x8
These two drums are Mahogany/Poplar/Mahogany
1965 - 14x14 (must have been added later) Mahogany/Polar/Maple
Lots of cracking inside but its nots going anywhere
The Rogers mount is original. Its didn't replace a Slingerland rail. i.e. NO extra holes
Original wrap was Sparkling Silver

In many cases the best resale value is with original wrap. Is there some issue with the original wrap?

Well, the best resale value would have been to clean up the original wrap. Since you have already pulled the wrap, it will always be a rewrap so if you want to get the maximum, now lower, resale, you would do best to wrap it in a finish that was available when they were made.

I've seen vintage sets, from most USA-made companies, where the seller wrapped the shells in a finish never offered. With rare exception, a non-offered wrap makes for a tough sale.

Forgot to ask, what method did you use to remove the existing wrap? Were there any issues with removing any of the outer ply as well? Was there glue residue that you had to deal with?

Thanks. I agree. There was no way to get those stickers off without the original...unfaded silver sparkle showing. So i would still have the outline of STAN MAIS on there. Plus the 1965 FT was a different color i.e. less faded. If I were strictly a collector I would have left as is...

Heat gun and small paint scraper/putty knife.
Came out great except there is still glue I am having a hard time getting off.

Yes, now that the damage has been done, I'm afraid your original question is completely moot.
If at this point you are wishing to maximize re-sale value, you should sell them as-is. There is no point in attempting to guess what finish will sell at a higher price-point, or maximize the number of interested prospects. There will be far more lookers saying 'I can put my favorite wrap on it'. And you've heard it a thousand times I'm sure, but "you won't recoup your expense" on re-wraps.
Now if you're forcing the question, I say something uniquely (or nearly) slingerland is the way to go. Capri pearl, Fiesta pearl, mardi gras if you can find some of the special-run wrap from a few years ago. I don't recall if there are any faithful options out there, as I simply don't deal with re-wrapped drums. Else, pink sparkle (not champagne) seems pretty narrowly Slingerland.

Looks nice, a little elbow grease and satin finish on the natural wood. Or sometimes, i like to re-wrap with a finish that was offered back in the day. Here are 2 examples.
