Glenn, cant wait to see the snare with the new parts. I was thinking, and I’m sure you have already thought of this but the first person to come to mind on the secret gift is your son. I suppose you asked him about it and he said no. If not I have a few guys that I think it could be but I will not say who. Just think, whoever did this is enjoying the drama of how this turned into a "who did it" mystery. If it were me I would be sitting back with a big smile and think, success! You may never find out who sent it but your first response to it was very convincing that you were grateful and would like to pay back the guy. We could tell how much it meant to you. So by the response you wrote back a few days ago, you did a good job of thanking the secret Santa. Kind of drives you nuts though, I bet.

Thank you!

Jeff I don't think it was my son. He was as shocked as I was when I called him and told him the story. Plus the transmission blew in his wifes Jeep and he's been saving to repair that which is a couple grand. :) His work has been very busy and life gets in the way sometimes. I may never know who it really was. I'm ok with that. I'll just continue to help others best I can as I can. And accept this wonderful gift as a blessing.

And here she is!! I need to polish it still but wanted to get these posted right away. Just finished her up this am. ;) Parts fit like a glove and the drum sounds wonderful!! I still need to fine tune the strainer just a tic and get a less conspicious handle bolt maybe down the road. But she's a done deal for now!!

You're most welcome, Glenn! Your drum is beautiful and seeing it in it's original glory and, most of all, blessing you without expecting repayment was my motivation. I am very happy that I was able to do something nice for you and put a smile on your face!

If in time the person chimes in it would be really cool to know and thank them. But I can understand if they'd rather not me know. It's just my nature to try to repay someone who's done something nice for me. So maybe in time I'll have the chance or just pay it forward. Either was it's cool.

I have been observing "in the shadows" and I have seen how truly grateful you are. I knew that, by nature, you would want to pay me back. I don't want you to. You have thanked me sufficiently and that is good enough for me. Enjoy them! Pay it forward! I have already received my payment.

Thanks John. Yep it's a very cool thing. I have the original NOB stickdaver bottom hoop and need to find a top someday. I put the RK stick choppers on it to give it a early look and fit in with the rest. They are also real fun to play too.
