Not me, I dive in head first then realize I have sunk too much money into the project. Oh I do try to add up what I think it will cost to put together a kit but it always ends up costing more than planned.

This would be me, too.

Well it's been a while since this thread was updated. So here we go. These are BnB lug Jasper shells. I whipped out my Black and Decker hand drill and drilled a bunch of holes in the shells for some BT and some oddball Pearl lugs I found. Make a few mistakes and need to fill some holes I drilled wrong and crooked..... oops. Here's a pic of the 13" with BT's and will post pics later of the Pearl lugs on the shells.

I have however been collecting some parts. Very hard to find good lugs. I will do my best to bring these back to their former glory though.

Here's my start on the BnB lugs. 12 uncracked large and 12 uncracked peanuts.

Also a pair of 13" and 16" tall boy hoops for the toms.

These are going to take a long time to finish but well worth the effort.

LOL sorry guys. I was going to post this back on April 1. But forgot and saw the pics last night in my folder. So I figured better late than never. ;)

I'm looking for a b&b project like that myself.

Nice job on that badge!

From those serials, the bass is a 1959, the other 2 are 1960-1. The factory occasionally would ship sets like that, but usually it was the dealer who would group together some drums and deliver them as a set.

The shells and wrap appear to be in excellent shape, should turn out great...

Thanks for the date info Dan, good to know. The guy I bought the shells from thought they might be a kit too. But wasn't 100% sure either. The bass badge was the worst part. So besides that these are pretty much just a clean and assemble deal. I was pretty lucky there. The wrap, interiors and edges are all very nice shape.

Dan (or anyone reading) would you happen to know the correct screw thread size and length for the BnB lugs? The lugs didn't come with the hardware to attach them. Just a rounded head machine screw and solid washer yes?

Thanks!
