Rogers Swivo matic bass drum pedal

Loading...

I’m trying to refurbish a 1960’s Rogers bass drum pedal and I need to make a leather strap and I need a screw and washer to connect it to the pedal board. Does anyone know the size of the leather strap and the size and type of screw to connect the strap to the pedal board?

Thanks,

Jim

Call Dave Drewniak at Al Drew Music in Rhode Island. (401) 769-3552

They have new old stock leather straps. They bought out the remaining Rogers parts inventory when Rogers went bankrupt.

Thanks, I’ll give him a call. I found a strap on eBay but I might need some others parts.

I also found what I think is the thumb screw for the hoop clamp on eBay as well. Any recommendations for getting the rust off the various pieces? Some are cast and look like chrome plated steel. I’ll try and send a photo but can’t seem to attach one when using my iPad.

Thanks

Here's a photo of the pedal. I think aside from the strap and thumb screw, it has all of its parts. Thanks!

I've started restoring mine too. The strap was affixed to the pedal with a Slotted screw and washer. Not sure of the size. It's looks like you have a 1st generation-ish pedal. Do you have the three dimples in a triangle formation and the number "1" or "2" on the base (found under the swivel unit)? If so, do you or anybody know the purpose of this?

I'm really a Ludwig guy but this pedal was my drum teacher's father's so I don't know that much about them. That said, I checked and there are no numbers on the base under the swivel unit and no dimples.

Interesting. Here's a view of mine. It would be great to someday decipher the how and why of the variations in this model.

The dimples almost look like they started to drill holes then changed their mind.

I found those on an early Swivo I restored. A gent told me that the first generation had a hole in the base, where the pillar starts.

The three holes remain a mystery!

Here’s a link to that thread:
