I will be courious to see what wraps will be offered. As well as
what the drum hardware will be like.

I'd be glad to get a 14x14 red onyx floor tom to match and add to my kit. Look forward to the news!
Yes , it has both! Like I mentioned though, I am in touch with a "Dixon insider" ... thus I know more about this than I can tell! Actually, I don't even know why I just even said THAT! Whatever. Next week, ALL will know. :)Tommyp
Hey, I'm in CT too...we probably know the same "insider" ;)
I have mixed feelings about this. Personally I wouldn't. And I don't want it. Leave the past in the past. Parts...yes. Love the parts. The rare wraps? leave them be. Rare, in the past.
It will be very interesting to see how this return of the Rogers company will play out. If they are not going to build “reproductions”, so to speak, what kind of a business model will they use to compete?
Ludwig has been producing quite a few levels of retro-fitted, constructed and finished drums. Large dealers like Maxwell Drums have been cooperating with Gretsch to make specially assembled sets with wraps as rare as Mardi Gras. I've seen those first-hand and they look fantastic.
For years you got white or black wrap if you weren’t getting a natural finish. A revival of the old wraps might be really nice. Otherwise they'll have to develop something that looks as good as the old wraps did in their day.
They could use the business model used by BMW to produce the modern MINI Cooper, where an iconic classic was revived but brought forward to modern needs. They were very successful and did start out with color combinations that reflected the classic era. Not at all sure how that might be applied to drums, but Rogers will no doubt be showing us some of the possibilities.
well all I can hope for is that they look like real Rogers drums including hardware and have the option for classic wraps like Blue Glass and silver Glass and the onyx wraps then they other important thing will be shells which way will they go , anyway looking forward to seeing these drums....
