Hmmmm

- I'd think that folks have keyholed cymbals for only a few reasons:

1] Like myself, one likes a used cymbal and buys it despite its keyhole ~ like many

a vintage collector here

2] Jammin' away with all ones heart and not realizing a keyhole is occurring, after chomping through your protective sleeve of choice ~ like many passionate drummers everywhere

3] Simple inexperience ~ like we all have been at some point in our lives before becoming like 1] or 2]

4] Rebellion - a nihilistic approach to common sense, tradition, authority and being unappreciative of life in general ~ like a few of us as rockers / punkers in our wayward youth - before discovering the immaculate beauty of these tree trunks and hunks of metal we've come to cherish as our drum kits.

O.K.! Perhaps share our thoughts on minor keyhole effects on flat ride cymbals? flowerflowerflower

If there is nothing more in this thread to be shared, then I'll search the forum and gather my own insights and go to search more at Cymbalholics.

Does anybody dig these flat rides, keyed or not? (Paul Wertico, Danny Gottlieb, Roy Haynes?) 1970s Zildjian 18" 2100 grams?
