John I will look around but most of my extra cymabls are crappy ones that you would throw away. I have a few cowbells that I dont use, would be happy to ship you one.

Thank you!

You had mentioned Green Sparkle for the wrap. Right now Jammin Sam has Dark Green Glass at 25% off. Not sure if the glass would be too much for this kit, but I did my son's Gretsch in Jammin Sam's Blue Glass and it's incredible. It really pops. I ordered samples of both the sparkle and glass and placed them around the house. Every time I would see the samples, the glass was always the one that caught both mine and my son's eye.

Some more Ludwig inspiration with dark green glass.

I didn't get a sample of this wrap, but I am guessing it has the black backing to make it "dark". Of course, glass will also add thickness to the shells and possibly make heads a little snug, but you already knew this. :)

Jeff - Thank you, actually I'm not looking for donations of cymbals, I want to buy some nice vintage Zildjians for him. I'm expecting some long awaited funds to arrive shortly. As soon as I have some expendable cash in my hands, I'll start shopping for brass. Thank you for your kind offer. I want this kit to be able to grow with him as he progresses. The longer he plays, the more he will appreciate what he has.

Mikey - Thank you! You're the best, man!

Thornbeck - That dark green looks classy! I may go with that one. I can always trim back the wrap at the bearing edges to accommodate heads.

Mendozart - Thank you brother, I'm planning on enjoying every minute of this resto. You can only give someone their 'first kit' once in a life-time. Going to put a lot of love and care into this one for sure.

John I know your not "asking" for donations, I was just thinking I could help out by giving you something but I dont really have anything worthy of giving away. If I think of something Il let you know.

Thanks, Jeff, you're a good man. And yes! If you have a spare cowbell, it is something I hadn't thought of! I'll pm you my shipping info and I insist on covering any, and all, shipping costs. Again... thank you, bro.
