Re-Wrapping My Gretsch

Loading...

From macr0w

Okay guys, contest time.Who can tell what I did wrong here? It's a small detail but if you are like me it may drive me nuts.LoLoLoLo

Any advice for putting the badges back on? I have the tacs but I was wondering if I should use any adhesive. Also it looks like the alignment would put the Gretsch even with the horizon or level no?

Looks great!

What you have there looks fine. Nobody will know the difference if you don't mention it. I wouldn't mess around with it. The drums are beautiful.

I looked at it for a few minutes and never caught it.

Thank you!

This is my second Gretsch restoration.

I just tacked the badges back in there just they way they were done at the factory.

Well, maybe a little different.

I used an awl and marked my spot then made a pretty significant hole with the awl.

Not all the way through just enough to help the tack.

Then I tap it in with a small hammer. band3

On the small toms the badge seems to be centered from what research I have done.

On floortoms it seems to be centered between the top lugs and the leg mount about 6.5 inches from the bearing edge.

Cool thanks for the tip! I plan on doing the same. Very cool kit and I had no idea you were so close; I am in Raleigh.

Bass drum is wrapped and the hoops are sanded.

I hope to get the hoops painted and glued up tomorrow.

Maybe by Saturday I can play these things.
