So the 1930 Cat. has a pricelist for K Zildjian&Co., Konstantinople,....Is that just the way they spell it in German ?These are the only known Sonor Catalogue from the thirties in exsistance, so they must be set straight !!

The German in the Sonor catalogue page says:

REAL TURKISH CYMBALS (K Zildjian & co. Stambul)

Well-known, high quality, Importgoods, medium weight

"Stambul" and "Konstantinopel" were German names for Istanbul/Constantinople back in the days when the catalugue was printed.

That catalogue page is actually pretty funny to read... If i get the time i can translate some more if anyone cares....

That`s my big problem with them,..I can`t read it !!

Would K Zildjian spell it that way on the Trademark for the Europian Market ?

Well yes,... Now even the Germans call it "Istanbul" flower

Thanks a lot! I saw this list earlier in this thread, but now that its translated to English I can appreciate it better.
