Oil Rubbed Finish RBS-1 (6 piece)!!!!! Great Condition

Loading...

Hello to all drum collectors,

I have a rare PEAVEY RBS-1 (6 Piece) drum kit for sale.

Condition: great

Price: $2000 or best offer

Here's two pics i pulled off the internet. Same kit, just mine has the oil rubbed finish so its similar to the pic of the darker kit. I currently don't have any actual pics of my kit, but I recently moved to MD and my kit is still in my house in PA, but will have actual pics soon :)

Sizes:

Toms (10" 12" 14" 16")

Bass (22")

Snare (14")

Hardware: double braced gibralter stands

The Radial Pro 1000's were originally called RBS-1's. RBS-1 started out life with a Radial Bridge constructed completely from maple ply. The ply was chosen to provide absolute stability. What makes the premier lines of Peavey drums unique is the patented Radial Bridge System. The Radial Bridge System creates head tension without weighing down the shell with lugs and bolts that interfere with its resonance. The head tension is taken by heavy wooden hoops that support the heads with no mounting hardware attached to the shells. This allows the shells to perpetuate a louder and longer sustaining sound.

Peavey tom-toms were made with thin 1/10 of an inch thick, three-ply shells, and the bass drums with five ply shells. Conversely, Peavey's snare drums are made with heavy 1 3/4 inch thick shells that bring out the high overtones in the snare sound.

If you are a serious buyer, feel free to contact me via email: kjm_319@yahoo.com or mobile: 570.239.4912

Also, as I'm sure you know, these drums are considered collectables. Therefore, I prefer not to ship the drums b/c i don't trust the carriers. It has always been my top priority to keep my instruments in great condition. I can guarentee that this drum kit has minimal wear. For it's entire life, I've only transported the drums a handful of times b/c I mainly used it as a studio kit. So if you are a serious buyer, we can work out a deal in terms of transportation.

Well here's the deal, I just moved to Maryland so my kit is still at my other house in PA so I haven't had the chance to drive over and take pics and so on and so forth, but don't worry I'll get some nice pics together soon.

Here's pic i pulled off the internet. Same kit, just mine has the oil rubbed finish so its darker.

Sizes:

Toms (10" 12" 14" 16")

Bass (22")

Snare (14")

Hardware: double braced gibralter stands

As far as price, this drum set new was $5000 with hardware. I bought it new, and babied it so its in really good condition. Also if you notice, i listed it for $3000 or best offer so there's no need to be rude. If your not interested, that's cool, but please keep the forum open to those who are interested. Everyone has a personal preference.

All in all, this drum kit is one of the best sounding drum kits in existance. Read any forum or website and they all say the same thing, and they don't make them anymore so they are considered collectable. Although 2 classic Ludwigs are nice to look at, the sound isn't that great. Although a model T is a cool car, it's a terible vehicle. So if you wanna just stare at your drums and show them off, than buy two Ludwigs, but if you're a serious musician with an appreciation for quality and design, than test drive a Peavey Radial Pro.

Party Foul!

Soap Box

do me a favor.

there's this little band called "Led Zeppelin"

they have this album "IV"

there's this song on there "When the Levee Breaks"

if you can listen to that song..and then say "Ludwig's sound isn't that great"

i will buy your drumset for $1,000,000.

Dude, i'm not bashing Ludwigs. My first kit was a Ludwig, but there's a reason why todays pros don't play Ludwigs. Back than Ludwig was THE KIT. Hell, Buddy Rich even played a Ludwig. But times change, and makers like Tama, DW, Pearl, Peavey, they kept innovating, where Ludwig kept their design the same. Please don't misunderstand what I'm saying.

i understand man.

i just disagree.

i've had pretty much every decade of Ludwig's that were made.

and they still do it for me.

no hard feelings.

to each his own!

First, that's a very cool kit. Those are excellent drums. Very resonant. The resell of these kits run all over the place. I checked throughout the past two years (cause I was shopping for a kit). They ran from right at a grand on up to four grand. The higher priced kits went unsold. The average seemed to lay around 1800. Some of the factors that brought it above that price were badge and finish. Most were five pc kits with the snare. If you can nab one with a solid shell vice the stave, then all the better.

Please don't be insulted, but I believe your price is a bit off to what the market would bear. I do wish you happy selling and hope things go your way. If you should hit a wall, consider the price variable and perhaps ruminate on it a smidge.

For the record, I'm very familiar with these and am aware of the different lines. Some would confuse the 500 and 700 with the grand line. I didn't.
