Thanks for the information. I was afraid I would have to sand the wrap and I don't really want to do that.

Sure hope it was of help. This stuff is fairly easy to use, It works wonders on the shine of your drums.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

From R.Adam McHugh

So turtle wax is kind of the same thing as Novus? That's easy enough to get here.As for ebay, yes I've seen it there and nearly bought it twice. But I was thinking there'd have to be something I could just buy off the shelf at my local hardware shop. Cheaper and instantaneous that way! :) If all else fails I'll plump for ebay.

Try a Motor Cycle shop... Harley Davidson dealers often stock it... If no go, let me know, I may? have a source..

Cheers

John

I got Novus off Amazon.

You can buy the 3 bottle set or single bottles.

Really did the job on a 30's snare that followed me home.

1971 Ludwig Rock Duo set in Blue Oyster Pearl
early Mapex dual bass drum Saturn kit
1964 Leedy Ray  Mosca kit in Blue Sparkle
1959 Slingerland Super Gene Krupa snare in WMP

1969 and 1977 Ludwig 400 Supraphonic snares

I have also used the Meguires Plastx. Works well.

Novus does work great. I believe that Plasticx works just as well, and is much easier to find (any auto parts store) and is also, in my opinion, a little easier to use.

If you do choose Novus, I would be VERY careful on using #3 (Heavy Scratch Remover). I used it on a Blue Onyx floor tom and had one heck of a time trying to get it off, and it actually left more scratches than what I originally had. If you use #3, use it very sparingly and buff it off right away with Novus #2 directly on top of it.

Thanks. I just changed the heads so I may wait before I tackle the Novus. I don't think it is good to take heads off and put them back on. Also, I think I would just use the #2 because I am just interested in removing the discoloration and brighten them up. I don't really have a scratch problem.
