I use "Gel Gloss" to polish/shine my wrapped shells.
Never cleaned a drum set before
Wow so many things to try. Thanks again.

I just finished up my restoration so you can see how it worked for me in the above link. The stuff I am reading is all pretty much the same. I read around here for months and learned a lot from all of the posters here.
My advice?
1. READ READ READ
2. Come up with a plan (I made a workflow)
3. Get the necessary supplies. Some stuff works the same (polishes, wax, etc..) but GET NOVUS 2, that is a given!!!
4. Post it here and take pictures and ASK QUESTIONS!!!
Feel free to PM me any stupid questions if you feel silly asking them in the post!
Can't wait to see pictures!

I have a huge shopping list ahead yeah I'm gonna read this forum a lot I just want the drums to look good I don't want to screw them up I won't rewrap these I promise
Stu what color is the wrap on your drums?

Backbeatkeeper mentioned having a very clean towel to hold your shell or part with. My local music store was dumping band gloves really cheap in the off-season, so I picked up a few pair for drum cleaning purposes. They keep you from touching your items with a bare hand and they're soft cotton. I would recommend getting the white ones because it's easier to tell when they're getting dirty than the black ones. I'm going back to get some white ones in the next day or so for that reason.
By the way, how is your project coming along, Stu?

Nice! Sounds like the same color as mine. They were called sky blue pearl but think that's the Ludwig version. Looking at the Slingerland catalog scans I saw a light blue pearl which seemed to be the same. Anyway it's a nice color whatever it's called. LOL

You'll get there. I did a little at a time, one drum at a time. Spent a couple hours a day on them as I could.
