the top one is a 20's Ludwig. it appears to be a heavy shell model, 2 piece brass shell. I see 8 lugs, which is desirable. if its a 5x14, then its probably what the called the all around model. looks to be very in very nice condition. these are pretty sought after. depending on condition, i'd say its in the 700 range.

thank you for the information. I thought it was 20s but didn't know for sure. hopefully these will be my first snares older than a transition badge. also, if anyone knows, how old is that leedy foot pedal?

Your pedal is Leedy's Direct Stroke "Professional Pedal", with the "Relax" footboard. It's listed under their product developments between 1930 - 1942.

The larger snare appears to be a late 20s - early 30s Slingerland Professional. I could be wrong about the model name. The double bead on the shell is pretty cool. Not sure of the value, but it's not very common. It looks like you're missing part of the strainer, which is typical. The parts show up on ebay sometimes for a small fortune. I made that same part for my old Slingerland.
