Ludwig wingscrew fabrication

Loading...

Got tired of chasing down original wing screws for my clubdate so I went to my local hardware store.

Got some stainless steel bolts and wing nuts.

All it took was a little ingenuity, some JB weld, a file and a pair if bolt cutters.

My clubdate is a players kit I've had since I was 16 so originality isn't paramount.

Now I just gotta figure out how to fabricate some floortom clippers!

Nice! I did the same thing on my Slingerland bass. Spur mounts were already stripped and sized up one. This worked very well and looks good. Much better than just bolts anyway!

Glenn.

Very cool. I'll have to try that out on an old snare drum stand that I have.

Very nice and much better than my deal where I just clamped a wing nut onto a bolt. Yours looks way better I'm gonna try it...thanks!
