Ludwig Floor Tom Project

Loading...

I’m looking to start a floor Tom project using a 12 X 17 parade drum. There are two that I’m looking at and I’m interested in opinions from the forum.

One drum is a double tension tube lug drum with metal rims that will match my snare drum.

The other is a single tension single support drum with wood rims that would match the bass drum.

I’ll post some photos shortly.

Thanks

Here are the photos of the two drums under consideration and my existing snare and base drum. Both drums have the Ludwig & Ludwig oval Chicago badge. My Bass drum is a Pioneer round badge from Chicago and my snare is a Ludwig & Ludwig from Elkhart with the stamp on the rim. Thanks for the help.

I like the tube lug model to go with yours.

I vote tube lugs! :). That’s a great project. I have always wanted to do a wooden “Levon Helm” kit. Best of luck on the project!

Not a Guru... just interested..

It seems unanimous for tube lugs. I wish the seller would negotiate a little but he’s holding firm. Thanks for the input. I was having some fun yesterday with the kit.
