So I had this Eagle Badge Rogers kit that was a shell pack of 20/12/14sn
All paper tags close numbered. When I grabbed it the wrap was rewrapped and a mess. I stripped them and decided to match or as close as possible to the outer ply of the snare which seems to be Walnut. I gave the snare a natural coat of clear because I liked the color.. I then stained the other shells Walnut plus a Keller 14x14 shell I had to match.
I think it came out pretty decent.

Nice work. The B&B lugs are pretty graceful looking. Rather a good thing that Rogers decided to reproduce some of them. Would be even nicer if they offered to make all the needed sizes. Are those Hayman "tuna can' lugs on the 14x14?

Very nice! The small tom has a hint of a butcher block with some bands of varying grain structure.
What is the BD hoop inlays, that looks interesting too and a nice contrast to the shell?

The inlays on the bass drum hoops look very nice. You did a very good job of staining and sealing the non-finish quality outer plies. If these nice drums were mine, and I didn't want to re-wrap them, I would have had the shells painted in solid high-gloss color--maybe a rich midnight brown? Or, a Duco two-tone paint job would be appropriate for them.The Beige and Brown used on this drum from the Barton company would look very classy with those hoop inlays.

I checked out that website. Interesting stuff, though I didn't manage to find the lug you have. I did see these that are rather nice. Sort of an Art Deco look and somewhat like Leedy lugs. I would have preferred the snare version to be closed at the sides. If I ever get into the build-a-set mood (unlikely but can't be ruled out), I might try these.

I went with stain because it was easiest for me to do and cheapest.
Being a player kit the hardware is worth more than the kit.
The inlay is from a wrap job I tried but bubbled after a few years so I didn't want to do that again. I suck at painting and it would cost some money for someone to do a nice job. So the inlay is a Root beer Pearl and worked out great.
The lugs on the 14 floor were the only ones they had that matched the hole spacing on the already drilled shell.

I understand completely what your plan of action was. My responses were based on the drums being used as a gigging set. Please enjoy the heck out of your Leedy-based drums.
Oh yeah....and thanks for identifying the inlay for the bass drum hoops.
