Late 30's early 40's WFL kit

Loading...

I have a one of a kind kit here... really. I have seen kits with the same wrap, but NONE that have a custom/original hand painting on the front bass drum head.

This kit was rescued from a bar in Northern Wi. ... where there was a famous shoot out with the Fed's and gangsters. You can visit this bar still, and see pic's of the kit on the wall, along with the gangsters in the bar.

The kit has the bass drum, ride tom, snare, bass mounted cymbal, bass pedal, snare stand and throne.

This kit also has a light mounted inside the bass drum that lights up the mural... Very Cool!

I will email pic's to interested / serious people only... Not just tire kickers.

I have been away from the forums for a bit... been real busy... I would really like for this kit to go to a person that will display the kit vs. bang on it!! I have had it professionally appraised, so I know what I should be realistically asking for it. I will say it once more... This is a one of a kind kit... none other is like this kit. This belongs on display, and I will not part with it to someone who wants it for future profit. I feel this kit needs a good home! Help me find it please!!!!

BOY... you all are impatient people... gimme gimme gimme... NOW! lol...

I need to get this kit out of the cryo-chamber... and get it set up to snap some respectable pic's. (I only wish this kit had the floor tom.... and honestly,I don't think there ever was one with this kit)

Does anyone know of ANYONE having a 30's 50's kit with a factory, hand painted mural on it?? If so... I want to see it!

I think I have the only one left... and would like to know who the artist is too!!!

Pics will be posted here by tomorrow afternoon!!!!!

Here it is... it has been on here in the photo's for some time now... ooopsy!

But... nevertheless... show me another kit that has this type of mural on it... on the original head... I bet ya cant!!!

Also... it has a light inside the bass drum, that is also original. The cord has been changed for safety issues, but even the bulb (Green) is original... and it works!

I have seen these kits with floor toms... but for some reason, I don't think this kit ever had one.... the only thing it is missing is the hi-hats, and maybe a ride cymbal??

Awesome !!

There are a few members here that have bass drums with the stock offerings for painted bass heads as yours does, and a few with old-school original artwork in the same vein as well.

The hand painted calf heads were a fairly popular option "back in the day". Quite a few of them have survived and if you search, you can find some outstanding examples of these. My favorites are the winter scenes. I love those.
