Mikey, I've never ordered parts from you and I'm really glad you're staying because not only can you supply hard to find parts but your knowledge about so many things on this forum has been great input to me and I'm sure so many others.

From Ludwig-dude

I'd hate to see you leave over some clown who needed the $6 more than you did.

Hi, it's the clown here.

Ludwig Dude you have completely missed the point, since you are letting the value of the transaction drive your conclusion.

Someone asks where something they have paid for is, and the seller doesn't respond--to PMs and to emails. Today it's $6, tomorrow it's $600. I needed the parts more than the money, and I wished to know whether they were coming (to determine whether I should buy the same bits that happened to be on ebay a few weeks after my deal).

So the seller is rightly caught in total BS about being sick. Now it is "oh the titles of the emails say 'hi' and so it goes to spam." My title said "Gretsch nuts and bolts", so Gretsch goes to the spam box?

Anyhow, I'm done with all the excuses. My interest now is your logic. By dismissing someone's point strictly on the value of their purchase means that there is a point when the value of a transaction will suddenly mean that the seller ought to behave differently in your view.

What is that value Ludwig-dude? Seeing as you think this way it is fair for everyone to know what the minimum they should look to spend with you is--so as to have the comfort that you'll value their transaction enough to deign an answer to a simple confirmation email.

From The Ploughman

Understanding goes a long long way. One broken transaction doesnt mean the end of the world. And come on, it was just a cup of coffee, and the guy still received it.

No he didn't receive it. If he would have, he woudn't have followed up with the seller.

Ironically, I bought the same screws again on ebay at the end of November and they didn't turn up either. The difference is this guy wrote back when I followed up. I said I'd look into it, thanked him, and gave him positive feedback.

I don't understand YOUR logic on this post. Things happen, something that you need to take into consideration. I've dealt with Mikey before without issues. Maybe you need to take take the problem up with HIM and NOT me. Something you need to also take into consideration with vintage drum collectors and sellers of parts, etc. is patience. Like he said, with 40 (+-) deals going on at any given time, sometimes things can get mislplaced, or fall through the cracks. Email providers CAN route emails to spam folders if it thinks it may possibly be spam, especially if it is repeated emails from someone NOT in your address book, or if there are other keywords in the titles. It DOES happen.

All I stated was I'd hoped that Mikey would not leave due to something as small and petty as a $6 sale. His is a great source for parts, and also a wealth of knowledge. It would be a shame to lose that.

Now I'm sorry that you didn't get your parts yet, or that you had to wait an "extended" period of time (by your definition) to get or not get those parts, but I do think you are whining a bit much over this. You got your refund from Mikey, something that some people would not do, so why carry on?

It sounds like you found the same parts elsewhere, and that seller is fixing whatever "issue" that you have on that sale, so what really is the big deal here?

Knavel............. this is again bordering on ridiculous.

This rarely happens with Mikey, you got your damn money back, your f...ing point has been made, why should you care if everyone gets it (in your mind) or not, believe it or not nobody really gives a s..t whether you have a point anymore or not.

Old news, stale, trivial

Yikes Kevin! Laughing H

That was pretty much what I WANTED to say, but held my tongue! :p

The point is Knavel...if you have a problem with Mikey, TAKE IT UP WITH HIM, DON'T MAKE IT PUBLIC. WE DON'T CARE AS IT'S NONE OF OUR BUSINESS TO BEGIN WITH. DOH

It is your option to do or not as you please.....you think you got screwed by a seller....then don't do business with them again. Its that simple!

Mind Blowi

Not everyone's experience with certain sellers is the same as yours. Yes, it does happen sometimes, but the ones that have the bad reputation are well known on the forum......I have to say that contrary to your experience and opinion, that the vast majority on the forum seem to agree that they have had good dealings with Mikey in the past, or if there was a problem, that it got resolved. You're particular experience is in the minority here. So please stop kicking the proverbial dead horse on this one......

Just wanted to point out, I'm not in the middle of this one.

... oh, and welcome back Mikey. I am relieved to see that you chose to stay. It would have sucked big time had you stayed gone. I've done a few deals with you and I think you're puppies and sauce. Cool mo-dee.

Welcome back Mikey!! I posted in another thread that they will miss you way more than you will miss them, and I believe that is true. I never was pretentious enough to assume you had to explain your business practices although I appreciate you extending that courtesy to me and the site as a whole, as a courtesy from you.

Your and your parts are a taken-for-granted-luxury that should not be understated. I am not in many, well really not any 'cept here, vintage drum circles but I haven't seen anyone who answered more "wanted" ads. Bottom line.

Well, welcome back!! I was gonna post one of the best songs by one of the best bands of all time. Cinderella's You Don't Know What You Got, Til It's Gone, as this seemed a fitting musical interpretation of the events surrounding your hiatus, but I want to follow the announced direction of the site. Once I figure out how to post videos on that new site, it will be an 80's showcase featuring some of the best bands of all time!! GnR, Poison, Ratt, Vito Bratta's White Lion, etal!! Woohoo!!

take 'er easy Mikey

toodles
