Here's an odd one. 19" Alejian, 1529 grams. It plays with more heft than expected, and structurally, it's not very flexible.As far I know, this was the largest size they made. Under the bell you can see a price and diameter written in China marker. I'd like to believe that the writing under the bell is original, but I find that to be unlikely.

If the price marking is original it may be a clue to the year of the cymbal. Price in '61 catalog is $38.00. Price in '63 & '64 catalogs is $42.00. Price in '65 & '67 catalogs is $46.00.

I have decided to post my cymbals. Mostly old As, a few old Italians, at least one old J that baffles me a bit. I would love to post a sound file, but all my sound files sound terrible. I'm interested in figuring out how to do proper recordings. Later. To start things off, here's an 18" pre-trans / second stamp / whatever you want to call it. 1375 grams.Found on ebay, marked below market value and misidentified, if I remember correctly.Someone drilled the hell out of it. Someone else (perhaps) used a Scotch-Brite pad to "polish" it. It has some flea bites. No cracks.
