Thank you!
My ludwig bass has Remo Coated Weatherkings on it.
The shop I was at didn't have a real reso head, so Im using a ported batter on the front.
Nice tone and punch for a 20!

I meant - are they Powerstroke, or Pinstripe, or...?
You should be really proud! What a great job!
GoneDrumming, thank you! I am very happy they chose me to come home with :)
Gilnar, I will have to look for you.
I see you're in St. Louis....my kid is playing up there in March. What is the weather like in early March?
good question!
It varies hour by hour all year long, if you dont like the weather here, wait an hour it'll change.
I would really recommend checking weather.com before you arrive. "Usually" its nice in the 60-70 range. Can also be 40-50s.
Shawn,
Nice work.
Elbow grease, determination and love make all the difference!
Enjoy!

I love going up there! It is such a great place to play, people come out to actually hear the music...wow what a concept. :)
Definitely, the music scene is pretty diverse and good sized.
Let me know when your in town, It would be nice to meet a fellow drummer!
Thanks KellyJ, after they fell into my lap and asked for love I had no choice!
forgot to mention, build date via stamps and serial numbers is January 14th 1969.
Lovely job of restoration!
Did you find date stamps in your drums to get January 14th 1969? Or does that come from one of the lists which correlates date stamps and serial numbers? There are a number of such lists around the place.
You should treat yourself to a copy of Rob Cook's The Ludwig Book as a reference book if you are interested in the details of your older Ludwig drums. It will explain kit names, why in the older snare the wrap actually goes under like that (they glued the wrap on the wood before bending it in the mold), and how the connecting plates changed on the snare wires over time and by model (that's why the ones you bought didn't have the correct end plate). Of course there are people here who know an incredible amount about these things. But I do like to curl up with a book. The old fashioned way -- like the drums.
