Dude, you just made my entire point for me. Thank you! That is exactly what I've been saying all along. The fact is that there is a wide gulf between the technical aspects of drum building and the artistic. I consider Dan Briechle who builds his own shells and teaches the only professional course on drum building in the world an absolute artist. I would never call him a drum tech. Maybe he wouldn't mind, I really don't know, but if one ever sees his work, they would quickly understand the difference.
