Establishing a proper and accepted name for a drum reapir-rehab person

Loading...

Hey guys, why don't we use the combined talents of all of our expereinces here on vintage drum forum as the launching site for somethng original and trend setting? Let the forum be recognized as the 1st and true origin point of a new industry term for a drum rehab person? I've searched many places, and like the respectable and tasteful title "luthier" for a guitar repair person, I can't find any for drum reahab persons. Why don't we come up with and vote for an appropriate term?

Telling people I'm a drum repair man makes me feel like I'm telling them I'm the Maytag Repair Man.

Anybody game?

Perhaps the webmaster could moderate the process....

While I'm rarely creative, I'll throw some out

Don't do that! There is a guy in Nashville that made some really nice custom drums that learned the hard way.

Using Luthier as a model of a tasteful description, how about Tympanier (or Timpanier)?

It uses a latin root instead of a french root word, and sounds classy!
