Backbeat, while it's true that claimants typically walk away with very little per capita in comparison with the aggregate of the settlement amount, the legal fee amount or even the claims administration costs, it's completely untrue that class actions don't benefit anyone but the lawyers. I'll give you a personal example, two years ago I got nearly $3000 in a class action settlement and I wouldn't have filed for the recovery had I not known the lawyer involved. That's $3000 I got for not having to put up one dollar, in essence for filling out a form. Furthermore, the class action in question stopped a telephone overcharge which had been going on for years, so if you don't act then you can't complain about overcharges or hidden fees later.

Actually, from what I've read, it wasn't an overcharge. It was the way you would read the bill. We read from left to right and as I said the first amount would be the late fee. It actually said so next to the fee. I caught it first time because I read my bills. The class action was done probably because some lawyer didn't read his bill and decided to file suit.
This is another slightly "off topic" thread, so I'm not gonna add fuel to a fire that I beleive, shouldn't have been lit.
Thank God you're not a moderator.
A lot of guys here do business on ebay buying and selling (drums.) I heard from a lawyers office and I thought I'd ask the guys here if any of them heard from this legal outfit. If it bothers you so much, you suggested a solution yourself... stop posting to it. Simple non-solution to a nonexistent-problem. ;)
