I have soaked bike parts in citric acid powder for years.I have done several batches of drum parts.It's great at removing the rust.It just doesn't polish for you. LoLoLoLoSo between drum parts and bike parts one of these might be a good idea. :cool:
The thing is just a huge time-saver, mac. I've been cleaning this crap by hand for 25 years so this thing comes as a life-saver. I have much more productive things to do with the time that the tumbler has given back to me.

I'm taking a shot at making one using an inverted electric DA sander using detachable pans large enough to be able to do hoops, legs and maybe even metal shells... Excited

I have a slew of Zephyr lugs, rods, t-rods and some snare hardware I need to make nice to finish off a project... wondering if I could throw you some bread to clean them in that thing for me.??
I have no room for a machine in my 6oo sq.ft NYC apartment!!!

I've been using mine and I disassemble the strainer all the way. I end up with bits of media on the pieces so I'll need to blow it off with the compressor. anyone else have this issue?

Same issue here, Old toothbrush and strong PSI knocks it off though. I'm having the best luck wiping everything with acetone to get rid of any tumbling media residue then a final polish.
I've done two throws Luddy and a Duplex. Worked fine. Just take them apart as far as possible.

I'm finding that the powder polish works much better on chrome plated parts than for nickel. I had to hit the nickel parts with some polish after tumbling to really make them shine. Chrome parts come out looking almost spanking new.
