i talked to the drum guy at the gc in downers grove, i was asking him for any trades and he said when they come in they usually go for what the trade value is so its possible a salesman only gave the trade in value at 100 to make more on his retail new set sale, in theory , he said they are are far and few between and that the the vintage drum shop down the road usually gets them to sell at his shop whats his name hmm i was just there the other day it was closed . oldsheimer i guess i have it ,oh yeah maxwells we all know of his stash

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

My local GC had a Ludwig Duco snare listed for $100 a couple weeks back when very similar drums were selling all over the bay at double to triple the price. Last night, GC had a 1920's COB snare, asking $499 and nearly the exact same drum sold today on ebay for under $150.

So do you have the capital and knowhow to buy them and resell them on FeeBay? Or might there be something about them which limits the price when experts view them? Just curious.

Look at that muffler on the snare. Does it look brand new or what? Although, I am finding a few flaws here and there upon closer inspection. Still, overall, very nice.

I tried to buy the Duco, but it had been sold hours before over the phone - to a guy over 500 miles away. Personally, I think it's entirely possible to fetch a vintage deal at GC. This one sounds extraordinary.
